Yikes, Scraps Everywhere

While I was in the east visiting my sister we found a sale that included some older pattern Marimekko shower curtains. Marimekko fabric has been a favorite of mine since my mom used to wear clothes made out of that fabric in the 70's. Some of their fabric is heavy cotton canvas but what I found is regular 100% cotton quilting weight for a very good price. A friend loaned me her Accuquilt Studio cutter and these were some of the scraps that were left over.

It is about 24"x 24" and I am trying to figure out if I should border it in black or not. I also need to figure out what I am going to do with it. Pillow or ??? Ideas are welcome.

Happy days!

I think a pillow is a great idea! ;-) Or you could make a tote bag... I can't wait to see what it becomes!

yes, a pillow would be cute...well...I like Zany ideas.... what about a lime green border, just a small one to pick up the lime from the design?

Not sure if it matches your decor but you could frame it and hang it! I've did it with a normal glass picture frame and also I just recently used an art canvas and stapled fabric over batting to it.

Hey S
I'm with Barb—lime green! Black and white love lime, and red loves it, and you do, too! My favorite holiday colors: red and lime or red and olive!

I saw the most gorgeous photo of pillows from Marimekko fabric on a modern white sofa. White sofas love Marimekko prints! Can't wait for you to redo your decor to match your entry. So, maybe a Scandinavian white kitchen, too.

I adore how you put these fabrics and pieces together. YUM! I think you should upholster something. A square poof or big square foot rest, or long bench. Check out Anthropologie's chairs. This would make a fantastic redo on an old-fashioned chair frame. You know the ones that used to be in velvet in the Toxey Drive house?
